JOCELYNE DUNCAN

It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother Jocelyne Duncan (Quintal) on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Born May 18, 1944, in Montreal, Jocelyne leaves behind many who will miss her greatly. She was a devoted wife to her husband Norman Duncan, a loving mother to her son, Marc Thessereault (Julie Lebreux), and daughter Caroline Lamontagne (Enrique Silva Mancel), step-mother to Robert Duncan (Norva Riddell), Michael Duncan (Sigrid) and Susan Dennehy (Michael), an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren, David Thessereault (Demi Mercille), Mikael Rodriguez (Amanda Guerrera), Antoine Thessereault, Francesco Franco, Florence Thessereault, Brendan, Sarah and Hannah Dennehy, Sam and Matthew Duncan, and recently, an overjoyed great-grandmother to Jacob Thessereault. An older sister to Michel Quintal (Solange), Johanne Rivard (Denis), Francois Quintal (Lise), Gilbert Quintal (Chantal), and Susanne Quintal.

Jocelyne was known for generously volunteering her time and energy to those in need and could always be found sharing either her infectious smile, love, food and her good company with everyone she met. Jocelyne devoted many years supporting the fight against breast cancer and the Canadian Ballet in Winnipeg. Her hobbies included spoiling her family members, shopping and sharing with all those around her.

Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love touched us all in ways that words cannot fully express. Her departure has left a void that cannot be filled, and we will miss her dearly. Though Jocelyne may no longer be with us in person, her spirit endures in the lives of all who met her, and she will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

A Celebration of Jocelyne's Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jocelyne's life may donate in her name to CancerCare Manitoba.

May she rest in peace.

  • **ENGLISH / FRANÇAIS** Dear Caroline and family, Chère Caroline et à toute la famille, I was heartbroken to learn of Jocelyne’s sudden passing. She was such a vibrant, kind, and generous woman — someone who always made others feel welcomed, loved, and special. I will always remember her laughter, her graciousness, and the warmth she brought into every room. My thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. I hope that the many beautiful memories you shared with her bring you some comfort in the days ahead. Je pense très fort à vous en ces moments douloureux. Que les souvenirs heureux que vous avez vécus ensemble vous apportent un peu de paix et de réconfort. With all my sympathy and affection, Avec toute mon affection et ma plus sincère sympathie.
