SHIGEKO SATO
Shigeko Sato passed away peacefully at age 92 in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Shigeko was predeceased by her father and mother, Iwajiro and Tayo Kaneyama; brothers Hiromu and Mamoru, sister Yoko, and her husband Koji.
Shigeko is remembered by her son Dr. Ken Sato (Adele), and daughter Irene Keay (James); grandchildren, Corinne Sato, Dr. Steven Sato (Juliana), Dr. Lindsey Keay, Michael Keay (Baina); great-grandchildren Winston and Adeline Sato, Nicole and Nolan Keay.
Shigeko is also remembered by family in Japan; brothers-in law Yasuo (Takeko) and Noboyuki (Hiroko), sister-in-law Sumiko, and great-niece Asuka, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family extends its sincere gratitude to the friends and companions who assisted and cared for Shigeko over the past few years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Manitoba Buddhist Temple, 39 Tecumseh St., Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Manitoba Buddhist Temple or the Japanese Cultural Association of Manitoba are appreciated.
