Sadly and suddenly on August 12, 2025, Margaret Shirley Laurie (nee Bednar) passed away peacefully in her sleep.
She leaves behind her loving husband Richard Laurie of 52 years and her two beautiful children Jeff and Gayle, as well as brother Stanley, sister Janet and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. She will be greatly missed - to know her was to love her and all that had the joy of knowing her are better for it.
A private family celebration will be taking place. In lieu of flowers, please plant your own - red ones her favorite color. She was an amazing gardener, baker/cook, homemaker and the BEST Mom anyone could of had - She lived for her children and her family. You will dwell in our hearts forever - our lives were made richer by having you in them.

Richard & family..close friends..I am saddened to hear of Marg's passing. She was always delightful when a chance meeting. I had the opportunity of working with Marg many years ago at Pirio- Lisa..which we became much more acquainted ..and shared in some good times and training luncheons. Richard and family, my deepest condolences for your loss. Although we did not often have direct contact, I always felt a special connection to cousin Margaret my grade 1 teacher and for having the honor of serving as flower girl at her wedding. What a shock! Stephanie just had lunch with her two weeks ago and remarked how good she looked. We have so many stories of us growing into adulthood together. Nobody could put on a meal like Margaret. We will miss her and we will hang on to our memories of her forever.
