JEAN KUKELKO
In Loving Memory
"The love, warmth, patience, and understanding of a mother."
Jean passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born in 1931 in Strathclair to Mike and Francis Brodie, she grew up on the family farm with her sisters Agnes and Toni. A devoted wife (Calvin), mother (Mark, Michael (Wendy), David (Jeannie), grandmother (Scott, Leanne, Meghan), and great-grandmother, Jean filled her life with family, friends, community, books, travel, sunshine, curling, crosswords, and cards. She studied business, worked as a librarian, and was a true social butterfly, treasuring her bridge club and the many friendships she made along the way.
She shared a lifetime of adventures with her beloved husband Calvin, from summer days at St. Ambroise to sunsets on the Gimli beach, and journeys across the world. An amazing baker and gracious hostess, Jean's warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her. Forever loved, deeply missed.
A special thanks to all the angels at Grace Hospice who cared for her. A memorial will be held Saturday, September 20, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church in Winnipeg Beach.

Jeannie was a wonderful lady with so much love and life. I enjoyed having a few great laughs at Jeannie's, David's and Meghan's dinners. Jean had an amazing sense of humour and always came back with a witty reply. She will be missed. God Bless - Posted by: Bernard Soares (Friend) on: Aug 19, 2025

It was a privilege getting to know Jean at Lindenwood Terrace. Thursday afternoon Bridge games or Wednesday evening Canasta were highlights of our week. Jean's warmness and tactful skill at teaching beginners to play were greatly appreciated. My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Joan Fransen (friend/former neighbour) on: Aug 16, 2025

My sincere Condolences on the passing of Jean. I had the pleasure of spending many fun-filled hours Bonspieling with Jean at the Gimli Curling Rink. She was such a lovely & fun-filled gracious lady. From dressing up in costumes to be part of the Gimli Ladies Bonspiel entertainment group to enjoying delicious lunches at Jean’s home. We made memories together as friends that I will cherish always. - Posted by: Kristine Kowalski (Friend) on: Aug 16, 2025
