ROYAL POTVIN
Peacefully, with his beloved wife by his side, Royal passed away in the early hours of August 10, 2025, at the age of 86 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Pauline, and by his children and their partners: Vincent, Pierre and Stacey, Janelle and Patrick, and Patrick. Cherishing his memory as well are his five grandchildren who brought him immeasurable pride and joy: Sean, Emily, Mélodie, Oscar, and Arthur.
Royal also leaves to mourn his family in Ottawa; his sisters Louise (Tom) and Lorraine (Butch), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In Manitoba, where he was warmly embraced as family, he will be missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends and colleagues who cared for him dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Christine, his brother and sister-in-law Roger and Margaret, his in-laws Maurice and Jeanne, his godson André, and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Royal’s life will be held on Thursday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home in Winnipeg, at 455 Lagimodière Boulevard.
