AUDREY MARIE WILLIAMS

August 1,1933 - August 19, 2025

We regret to announce, with profound sadness and broken hearts, mom’s sudden passing.

Mom was born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia to Pauline and Burton Levy. Left to mourn her passing are her six children, Margie, Joe (Mary), Brian (Darlene), Mike (Heather), David and Steven. She also left behind her 13 grandchildren and her 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph (Joe Williams) and her son-in-law Jim Parisian.

She was an only child and said it was lonely growing up and always longed for a large family. When she was 18 years old, along comes dad. He was in the Navy and was on leave. They were both at the same dance in town and apparently dad stuck out his foot and tripped her, of course saying that she fell for him right away! The rest is history - six kids later she had the family she yearned for. Mom was a typical Navy wife, just get settled then you have to pull up roots and off you go to the next location. Many years of being transferred here and there, the last transfer being Winnipeg in 1969 and here we are.

Mom worked for CFB Winnipeg for many years and over those years made many long-lasting friendships. Mom was very easy to get along with and was loved by all who knew her. She just had that knack for making people feel close and comfortable around her. She was quiet but had such a good sense of humour. Mom was passionate about her love of dogs. She had three over the years all being Shih Tzu’s. She loved all animals for that matter. Her heart was so compassionate towards anybody who needed help. Even when she didn’t have much herself, she would still help others with what she could afford. Mom touched many lives in her own way. Once you got to know her, you loved her. She truly cared from the bottom of her heart for all she knew and loved.

We would like to thank Oakview Extendicare on Ness. To the many people who cared for her, they made her feel so welcomed and so loved and so special. She felt pampered getting her nails done and her hair done once a week, she was definitely being spoiled. We would like to extend a special thank you to Sharon for spending good quality time with mom and giving her a “job” folding clothes, which she took very seriously. Knowing that her reward would be a bowl of ice cream at the end of her “shift”.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society or to a no kill shelter in mom’s name.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. There will be a private family gathering to sprinkle her and dad’s ashes together so they can now finally be as one.

Mom, you will live on forever in our hearts and minds. We will miss you terribly but knowing you will be reunited with dad warms our hearts. We will love you for forever and a day.
