With love and sadness, the family of George Theodor Famega announces his passing on August 26, 2025, at age 86, with his daughters by his side.
Born in Winnipeg, George was predeceased by his parents George Sr. and Mary, and brother Raymond. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon; daughters Christine (Joseph) and Catherine (Dean); and extended family and friends.
George enjoyed a 29-year career with Transport Canada at the Winnipeg Airport. He loved reading about aviation and cars, listening to jazz, road trips, and fellowship at Grey Street United Church Men’s Club. In retirement, he and Sharon enjoyed winters in Southern California with family and friends.
A private interment and Celebration of Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to Cancer Care Manitoba.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Concordia Hospital, 3rd Floor East, for their compassionate care.
Rest peacefully, Dad. You will be missed.

Dear Sharon, Christine and Catherine, I was deeply saddened to learn of George’s passing. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I remember his smile and joking manner. It was truly a pleasure to know him. Be grateful for the many years you shared with your husband/father. It’s never enough time.
