When I started work with Manitoba Hydro, Dirk was the first technician to ask me if I was interested in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. He explained how the houses were built for the working poor and the skills i would develop there. He sold me on the idea as I volunteered for over 10+ years. Dirk always has a wry sense of humour and was very dedicated to teaching his craft as a technician to the apprentices at Manitoba Hydro. My condolences to Dirk's family and to those who knew him. He was a good man. - Posted by: Claude Berard (former co-worker) on: Nov 01, 2025
