Brian passed on his love of learning to his family and the hundreds of children and adults he taught through the Winnipeg One School Division and at the University of Winnipeg, and to any child who had the good fortune of building a sandcastle with him.
We miss him already.

I knew Brian vaguely in Kenora in high school; we were in different grades. I was hitchhiking from Winnipeg to Kenora in 1971 and he stopped and gave me a ride home. I never forgot it.
