LENY

HELENA MARIA

THERESIA VROOM

(ASSINK)

Lovely Leny left peacefully at home on a calm and snowy winter day. She was 95.

Born in Holland, Leny came to Canada to marry her late husband, Bill (William). They created a beautiful life together, raising two children, Audrey and Andrew, and being very involved with their grandson Evan. Leny was an amazing Mom and Oma! Their Wildwood Park home, Victoria Beach cottage and Naples, FL home, kept them active, energetic, and healthy with cycling and tennis ("Down the line Leny"!), passing on a great love of nature to their family.

Leny was loving, lively, beautiful, kind (so kind!), creative, and hard-working. Always caring about others and wanting to help. Leny making homemade Dutch soups, sewing our clothes, helping build our cottage (and all of the furniture in it!) are warm fond memories. Letting us experience lakes, beaches, ski Hills, tennis courts and so much more, was a gift that shaped each of us.

Leny's daughter Audrey Benningen, son Andrew Vroom (Marie Slotta) and grandson Evan Rathgeber (Katie Kokotailo Waterer) will miss her immensely, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Especially her "second daughter" Margaret Meulendyke (Roland Rioux) and our "Canadian family" the Olsens.

Thank you to those who treated Leny with gentle compassionate care.
