Nola June Sylvester (née Smith) passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at Boyne Lodge in Carman, Manitoba, at the age of 78, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born September 2, 1947, in Carman, Manitoba, Nola married Darryl Sylvester on November 4, 1967. Together they operated Syl’s Drive-Inn in Roblin and later in Carman, where they returned in 1982.

Nola and I were students together in the U of M’s Cont. Ed. Program Advanced Certificate in Gerontology (1990’s). I have fond memories of Nola and was especially keen to talk with her because, besides course work, my grandparents lived in Carman where we would visit them and of course, businesses😄 My deepest sympathies to the family.
