RAYMOND TRUSH

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Raymond Trush on December 15, 2025.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Lorna. Raymond is lovingly remembered by his children, Michael (Kareena) and Colleen (Sean); his grandchildren, Austen (Jade) and Taylor (Meghan); and his sister, Rosalie as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Raymond was a kind and generous man, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. His gentle spirit and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He truly embodied the meaning of “family first,” and there was nothing he would not do for those he loved. Family meals and gatherings were especially cherished, and his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.

Raymond spent his working life as a zoning inspector with the City of Winnipeg. A passionate sports fan, he enthusiastically supported the Winnipeg Goldeyes, Los Angeles Dodgers, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Dallas Cowboys, and Winnipeg Jets. He enjoyed curling and hockey and was a skilled tabletop hockey player. He also embodied the spirit of volunteerism, faithfully calling bingo for many decades.

Known as an “animal whisperer "Raymond was adored by family pets and neighborhood animals alike. He took great pleasure in gardening with his wife on the family farm in Oak Bank and loved making salsa and tomato sauce to share with others.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lions Manor for their exceptional care and compassion.

In keeping with Raymond’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A private graveside service and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
