MARGARET CLARKE

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Margaret Clarke, (nee Hunter), on December 30, 2025. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Robert Clarke, Mum to Sharon (Dave), and proudest Granny to Jordan (Nicole), Connor (Caroline) and Dane (Larissa).

Mum immigrated to Canada from Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1978 at the young age of 37. She was determined to get her only daughter out of the war zone that Belfast had become and to provide a better life for her - and she did.

Mum, along with her Robert, built a new life in Winnipeg and for a lifetime they truly enjoyed their friends, old and new. Mum enjoyed golfing, music and dancing with Dad, and travelling to many countries with Norma, Reg and Donna. She had so much fun for many years with pals Jan and Sandy in Florida and loads of laughs in New York and Winnipeg with the Belfast gals and her best friends Joyce and Yvonne. Mum leaves behind a legacy of stories that we will all share.

Mum was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma several years ago and faced her diagnosis with courage and determination. She received exceptional, compassionate and knowledgeable care from Dr. Kotb and Jayne Kasian at CancerCare Manitoba, along with her GP Dr. N. Wiens.

She remained the strongest, most spirited (some might say feistiest!) and loving Mum and Granny to the end. We are so very thankful for the tremendous care she received these last couple of months from the Doctors, Nurses, Aides and Palliative Care team at HSC as well as from her homecare providers.

Thank you to all of her friends and family in Canada and N. Ireland who visited, texted, called, baked, stayed with her and brightened her days these last few years.

Mum, we know you are having a glass of wine, a dance and a singsong with Dad and all of your loved ones who were waiting for you.

Mum requested no service. A family celebration will be held in the Spring. In the meantime, we know she would enjoy it if you were to raise a glass in her memory.

Rest peacefully Mum -

you will be so missed.
