We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, auntie Norah Olivia Vera Berens at the age of 84 years.
She leaves to mourn her passing her sons Joseph Hudson (Delilah), Francise Hudson (Wanda); her daughters Vera Mitchell, Margaret Shorting, Blossom Hudson (Kranston); daughter-in-law Olga. Nora also raised Larissa Hudson (Ryan), Edna, Fanny (Gil), Heather (Joe), Georgina Bouchie as her own. Her nieces and nephews Alfred Cochrane (Jessie), Gerald Cochrane, Cheryl Flett (Harlan), Annette Cochrane (Rodney), Christine Bouchie (Elmer), Linda Leggett; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Sara Jane and Alex Cochrane; siblings Alfred, Hank, Freddie, Annie, Violet and Fanny; her children Rocky Hudson and Fanny Hudson; her husband Roderick Berens and the father of her children Joseph Hudson; grandchildren Savannah, Blossom, Courage, Frederick, Lulebelle; sons-in-law Leonard Mitchell, Greg Shorting, and Roddy Paul; her mother-in-law Madeline Berens and father-in-law Roderick Berens.
Norah grew up in Fisher River until her father passed and then moved back to Berens River. She moved to Poplar River in the late 70’s. She is the Matriarch of five generations. Her oldest grandson is Russel Mitchell (48) and the youngest great-great-grandson is Jaxxon Fontaine (2 months old). Sad she never got to see and know her grandchildren and great-grandchildren due to her deteriorating condition.
A family and friends farewell viewing is arranged for our beloved Norah Berens on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Eternal Grace Funerals, 1111 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Cremation to follow.
Family and friends gathering for supper will be announced at a later time.
