NORMA JANE MCMULLIN

(nee HARTZ)

Peacefully on January 28, 2026, Norma passed away at age 79 at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg where she was a resident for the past 2 1/2 years.

Norma was predeceased by her parents Bill and Verna Hartz.

Norma was born in Winnipeg on October 20, 1946, and grew up on Ashburn St. Attending Isaac Brock and Tec Voc schools. It was at Tec Voc she met Donald McMullin and they became High School sweethearts. Norma and Don were married 58 years.

Norma had many jobs working at MTS, University of Manitoba, Beaver Lumber, Norwood United Church and her favourite job was childcare.

Family and friends were a big part of her life. Norma and Don raised four children. Sons Paul (Holly), Neil (Meghan), Dean and daughter Lisa (Dave). Grandchildren Brooke (Ryan), Madison (Branson), Nathan (Elise), Nico (Jordy) and Oliver.

In retirement Norma loved her garden and flowers. Sitting on the porch having coffee or a glass of wine. Loved visiting the neighbours and going out to Tim's for coffee. Norma and Don travelled across Canada several times visiting family and friends and spent many winters in Kelowna, BC.

The family thanks the wonderful staff at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their care and kindness.

At Norma's request there will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers donations in Norma's memory can be made to The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My wife Heidi met Norma in High School. They became good friends and stayed lifelong friends. After she married Don we spent many wonderful evenings playing board games or just getting together. Norma loved those and she was lots of fun. She will be missed but she will be remembered with fondness. My condolences to Don and the family. - Posted by: Herbert Grosshans (Friend) on: Feb 09, 2026
