With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Gary Hnatiuk on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the age of 66.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kildonan Community Church (2373 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB). All are invited to attend.

I have worked with Gary for over 30 years at New Flyer Industries. He was a great guy to work with and never turned down a job given to him. I met Gary when he was hired on in the fiber optic dept. where I was working and we maintained a 40+ year friendship. I considered him my best friend. He was a genuine good person that would offer the shirt off his back. Our get-togethers included my wife and kids, who instantly took to his kind demeanor and generosity quickly becoming a valued part of our family. We had similar likes and could talk at length to all hours of the night about current events. Gary had a strong faith in Christianity which shone through in his personality and often provided strength of my own faith in times of need. His sudden tragic passing has left us in shock, and the world has become a lesser place without him in it. We will miss him dearly but our memories of Gary will live in our family’s hearts forever.
