It's impossible to sum up Carol in a few paragraphs - she was too full of life, love, and stories. To know her was to feel seen, to feel welcomed, and to feel like family. Her heart was her compass, and it guided everything she did.
Carol and JC spent 40 years building a life filled with laughter, honesty, and deep devotion. Their love story - starting with that unforgettable first date soaring over the Statue of Liberty - was one she treasured and retold with a sparkle in her eye. She loved celebrating their bond, not to boast, but because she genuinely believed love was something worth sharing.
Becoming a mom in 1993 changed Carol in the best way. Zach didn't just enter her life - he brightened it. Later, when Linda and their daughters joined the family, Carol's pride grew even bigger. She delighted in every photo, every story, every moment. Time spent with her brother, Dave, especially their recent visit in Minnesota, filled her with warmth. Family, chosen and biological, was always at the center of her world.
Carol had a gift for storytelling. She could take you from laughter to tears in a heartbeat, all with that unmistakable wit and authenticity. She made friends in seconds - real friends - because she had a way of making people feel important, valued, and loved. If you were in Carol's circle, you knew it, and you felt it.
Small in size but enormous in spirit, Carol poured her passion into the non-profit community in Winnipeg. Whether at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory, the Zoo, Harvest Manitoba, Siloam Mission, or Career Trek, she gave people kindness they didn't forget. Her impact lives on in countless hearts.
If you want to honour Carol, do what she did so effortlessly: lead with love. Support for end-of-life expenses can be made through the "Honouring Carol Morris" GoFundMe web page.
A Celebration of Life will be held soon.
