Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN LENORE MCADAM
It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved Joan on February 1, 2026.
I felt that having experienced all the love and happiness I had, I was now experiencing antithesis of that. That it’s pain and misery was drowning out everything we had and it wasn’t fair. And then I heard someone explaining that this loss and all the things that came with it were the purest form of love. Love wasn’t just the fun and joy and fantastic moments. Love was knowing that there was an end coming but staying there to experience it all. That this horrible adventure was all a part of a beautiful love story. You get to feel this now because you had so much love to give to Joan and for her to give to you.
I don't know if I will find comfort in that but I'm so glad I had her in my life. Everything she gave to me and helped me through. Every memory I have of her that will make me smile again some day was worth it and I'm so happy that when she passed, I was there. Someone who loved and cared for her more than anyone else in this world. All my love Jack.
Joan leaves behind her sister Nancy who she used to travel with quite a bit, and her nieces, Lin and Carol. Joan had no children of her own, but she spent time with Lin and Carol growing up, with their kids who have fond memories of Joan. Along with my sisters, Christine and Diane and all those who knew her.
A private service was held followed by cremation. Condolences can be sent to Glen Lawn Funeral Home.
Joan’s wish was that in lieu of flowers or donations instead, in her memory, do a good deed or share a kindness with another less fortunate.
