Marie Louise “Mickey” (DeJaeger) Eckert Nash, 76, passed away peacefully in Winnipeg on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with her husband, Doug Nash, by her side.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri (Jason); grandchildren, Ryker, Justin, and Ken (Brittani), and their boys - Mathieu, Markus, Mason, and Maverick; and her sister, Joyce. She was predeceased by her daughter, Melissa.
Mickey was strong, brave, unfiltered, glamorous, and beautiful - remembered for speaking her mind and facing life with courage. Doug was her hero, and they shared a deep love. In her final months, her grandsons stepped up with devotion and care.
The family is grateful to Riverview Health Centre, especially the staff and residents of 2W, for their kindness, compassion, and the extra time they gave Mickey.
Cremation has taken place. A private gathering will follow.

My deepest condolences go out to Doug and the family. Mickey will be tremendously missed as she became a member of our family on 2W. I am so sorry as I didn't get to say goodbye. We will miss Mickey and Doug at our Bingo games and I will miss my story telling with her and Doug. Now her and her and Susanne can play as much Bingo as they want. I will miss you my dear friend.
