William Nowlan Cook passed away suddenly on February 6, 2026, just days before his 94th birthday.
Raised in Springfield area, Nowlan lived a life defined by generosity, humour, and adventure. He spent 37 years with Canadian National Railways and remained active in sports, music, volunteering, and travel throughout his life. He was deeply devoted to family and community.
Nowlan is predeceased by his wife Hilda (Ashworth) along with many siblings and their spouses. He is lovingly remembered by his partner Joan Gillespie, his sons Glen (Cathy) and Gary (Gena), his grandchildren, Christopher, Katie (Donovan), McKenzie (Kumiko) and great grandchildren, Felix and Sabrina and many friends and family.
The family offers their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Concordia Place Personal Care Home.
A funeral will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakbank United Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice in Nowlan’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
