In Loving Memory of Shirley Ramsay. It is with profound love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Shirley Ramsay, age 76, on February 11, 2026, at 8:16 p.m. at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, surrounded by love.
Shirley leaves behind her husband and the love of her life, Doug Ramsay. Together they shared 58 years side by side, celebrating 55 years of marriage on June 27, 2025. Their life together was real, filled with deep love, hard seasons, perseverance, and a bond that endured through everything.
Born in Winnipeg to Ann and Mel McIntyre, Shirley was the second oldest of six siblings. From a young age, she carried the heart of a protector, strong, loyal, and fiercely devoted to her family. She showed her love through action, always stepping up when it mattered most.
Shirley now reunites with her beloved parents Ann and Mel, her siblings Les, Mel, and Lynn, and her Grandma Parker. She leaves behind her brothers Gordie, Billy, and Snookie, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was bold, honest, and never afraid to speak her mind. Beneath that strength was the biggest heart. Her love ran deep, especially for her family. If she loved you, you felt it. If you needed her, she was there.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures, bingo and keno at the casino, her family's company, and spending time with her husband. Those who knew her will always remember her stubborn streak and her unwavering loyalty.
Shirley was a proud mother to her three sons: Jim (Loreen), Children: Ashleigh (David) – Kiyah, Alister, Mila and Paisley Amber (Jimmy) – Samuel, Andrew, Oliver and Everleigh Aaron (Nicole) – Jaxon and Noah. Jason (Shauna), Children: Justin (Julie) – Theodore and Ella Hailey (Alex) – Billy. Jody (Charlynne), Children: Kirsten – Ariella and Maddyn Chase.
Shirley was a proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She loved each one fiercely. Her pride in her family was constant and undeniable. They were her greatest joy and her greatest accomplishment.
In her final days, she chose comfort and peace, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Shirley’s life on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre 3030 Notre Dame Ave.

Sending my Deepest Condolences to Doug and the boys, Jim, Jason, Jody and their families. Also to Snooky, Gordon, Billy. My heart is breaking for ALL. Shirley and I have known each other since we were 12 years old, (65 years). We went through lots of good times. After her and Doug met and got married we hung out lots. They moved out west for awhile, so we weren't in touch, but when they moved back to Winnipeg, we started hanging out again. They lived just down the street from me on Pacific Avenue. Her boys would come and get Steve and go to school together every day, they all became very good friends. Even though we didn't hang out and see or talk every day, we had that Special Bond of Friendship, that only comes to a few. This past year, my son and I would spend every Sunday playing Bingo at the Casino, and I would see her, and we would always say hi and talk. The last time I saw her was around Christmas, and I spent a great amount of time sitting there with her just talking, and talking. As I had lost my partner of 33 years in 2024, and we both talked about how great and wonderful Doug and John were. How they both spoiled us and did everything for us. She said Doug won't let me do anything, I took her hand and said he wouldn't do it if he didn't want to and that he loves you so much. She agreed, which we know she doesn't agree very much. lol.
