JOHN WORSTER
John Worster - Retired Executive Vice-President, Acushnet Golf. A Life Well Lived.
John Worster, beloved husband, friend, and mentor, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026.
Born in Winnipeg, John lived an extraordinary and purposeful life that touched countless people. John began his career serving with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Edmonton, Alberta, bravely working to combat crime in Canada. His sense of duty and integrity carried through to his next chapter - a remarkable 27-year career with Titleist Equipment. During his tenure, John played a pivotal role in transforming the brand, helping grow annual revenue more than twentyfold. At a time when the equipment division faced closure, John's leadership and vision turned it into a thriving cornerstone of the company. His no-nonsense approach, commitment to process, and tireless work ethic inspired everyone around him.
Beyond business, John was a man of quiet generosity. He supported junior golf programs and high school teams, often behind the scenes, ensuring young athletes had the equipment and opportunities they needed to succeed. An accomplished golfer himself, John's passion for the game was unmatched. He won the Senior Club Championship at St. Mark Golf Club in his mid-60s after an epic playoff battle and proudly shot his age at 70. On the course, he embodied the Titleist brand and shared wisdom that reflected his outlook on life:
"What's your hurry? Aren't we doing something we love on a beautiful day?" John cherished time with friends, whether on the golf course or during annual trips to Palm Springs, always embracing summer and savoring life's simple joys. Though often a man of few words-perhaps a trait from his Mountie days-when John spoke, people listened.
He is survived by his wife Paula, who brought him decades of happiness and comfort.
John's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the friendships he nurtured, and the values he exemplified. A Celebration of Life will be held soon, and friends are invited to share stories and photos honoring John's remarkable journey.
Remembered with respect and gratitude for his service.
John Worster joined the RCMP in October 1970 and trained in Depot Division, Regina as a member of Troop 15, (1970 - 1971). After completing recruit training in May 1971, he was posted to Alberta, first serving at Red Deer Detachment. He was later transferred to to Coronation/Consort Detachment in January 1972, and to Edmonton Drug Section April 1976. He took his discharge from the Force in November 1977.
