Jim Johnston passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet selflessness. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Beverley; his three sons, Brett (Chris), Bradford (Mim), and Bennett; his two beautiful granddaughters, Anne and Alice, who brought him immense pride and joy; and his brother, Tom (Kim). He will also be deeply missed by his extended family and many dear friends.
Jim dedicated 33 years of service to the federal government, a career marked by commitment and integrity. Beyond his work, he embraced life fully. He loved to travel, exploring Europe, Southeast Asia, and embarking on African safaris, as well as enjoying time in Florida. Wherever he went, his humour and unmistakable big laugh followed, brightening the lives of those around him.
A deeply devoted family man, Jim was known for his kindness, generosity, and putting others before himself. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will take place on March 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pavilion at Assiniboine Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
