Peacefully, Doreen passed away on February 20, 2026 at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Doreen was predeceased by her sister Gail Ginter.
She had a wonderful sense of humour and the kindest of hearts. She loved her horse Mädchen, and the family cats and dogs.
Doreen is survived by her sister Elaine Orr, and her brother Gary Schafer.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be held at a later date.

Doreen was a true friend. She was always there for everyone. Doreen was very active in the Springfield Hunt, and she and Madjen had many a fine time. Doreen always enjoyed the hunt because of the exhilarating riding and the comradery of all the people involved. Many long-term friendships were made.
