Edward "Ted" Hugh Crozier passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026 at Langley Gardens Chartwell Retirement Residence.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, his daughter Shannon Crozier and her children, Dylan and Teagan Crozier-Wong and their father, Edmund Wong; as well as by his son, Stephen Crozier, and his wife Jennifer Crozier and their children Nathaniel and Joshua Crozier.
Ted Crozier was born on May 9, 1943 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The eldest son of Hugh and Ruby Crozier, Ted and his siblings, Carol and Brian, grew up first on Ronald Street and later Wallasey Street, where their father Hugh operated Crozier Kennel. Hugh raised hunting dogs and through long dedication established himself as a premier breeder of champion hunting dogs. Over the years the Crozier name also became associated with Ruby's lovely garden, which she lovingly attended to each season, and her beautiful paintings of southern Manitoba which she shared through the St. James Art Club.
Ted first met Barbara during a ski trip where his friends noticed immediately that he only had eyes for her. Though they parted when Barbara went to Montreal to work after university, they reunited upon her return and were married on April 26, 1969.
Ted began his career working for Hignell Book Printing in Winnipeg, eventually moving into computer sales with Honeywell and Wang before he became an entrepreneur. His career took the family from Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, to Burlington, Ontario, and back to Calgary, before they settled in Burnaby, BC in 1978 where they built a life, raised their children and were active members of that community for nearly 50 years.
Ted was famous for his easy humour, sharp wit and lively story-telling. Sharing those moments with friends and family, who he loved dearly, was precious to him. Ever the adventurer, Ted was passionate about many things, particularly the sea. He loved sailing and powerboating - anything to spend time on the water. In their later years, Ted and Barbara spent many a summer night out on the ocean, from False Creek to English Bay, all the way up to their favourite, Desolation Sound.
Despite moving far from home, Ted was always mindful of his roots and where he came from, and he worked hard to maintain relationships with so many dear friends that he and Barbara met along the way. He will be sorely missed, but we will carry his spirit with us always.

My family knew the Croziers back when Ness Ave was a dirt track west of Moray. Mr Crozier (Sr) was the man who found me with my dog when I was amiss 65 years ago and when he tried to help me - my dog bit him. I reconnected with the family when Ted's Mom Ruby came to reside at Kiwanis Courts many years later. I still have 2 of her paintings in my collection. Sincere condolences to the entire family from Jim Walker (Jr). The Walkers of Harcourt St. - Posted by: Jim Walker (Friend) on: Mar 14, 2026
