Held by his wife and daughter, Allan quietly transitioned home to reunite with his grandmother Isabella and daughter, Tianna Isabella the evening of April 23, 2026.
Born in Alexandria, Scotland, Allan immigrated to Winnipeg in July 1967, moving a few times before settling in Transcona. After high school, Allan followed his parents to the Whitemouth Hotel before he returned to Winnipeg where he worked at Griffin Canada Inc. He later built a career with the WRHA in digital health until retirement in 2022.
Allan walked a fierce, passionate life, and poured that energy into everything he loved; sports, music, his dogs, and his family. Allan was always down for a small-town baseball tournament, and he took every opportunity to golf (often making it a skins game), Pinawa's hole #16 being his favourite. He passed his love of sports to his daughters who he later coached, and he would often remind them that he won Athlete of the Year... in grade 8. He was a devoted Jets fan whose cheers were known to shake the house.
Although Allan loved his classic rock n' roll, he had respect for the classics and enjoyed listening to Beethoven and 2 Cellos. Allan was a lifelong learner, always seeking out stories - history and current events being his favourite subjects. Unless well informed, you were likely to be corrected in a debate. Saturday mornings, you could either find Allan with the daily paper and coffee in hand or waking the neighbourhood by blaring Van Halen 1984 as he detailed his beloved cars. Out of his many cars, none ever topped his cherry-red 1968 Firebird, the one he drove on his first date with his future wife and later sold to provide for his first-born.
Family was the heart of Allan's world, always ready to protect and fight for those he loved. He was welcomed home by his fur babies; Dusty, Brandy, Fletch, Tasha, and Amber; leaving behind Roxy and Spears who will forever miss their long morning walks. Some of his best memories come from our time camping at Grand Beach and Falcon Lake – his breakfasts, long walks and bike rides, days at the beach, and evenings filled with campfires, movies, and games - thanks to "Mr. Competitive".
Allan Robert Hutchison is survived by his loving wife Kimberly of 30 years, and cherished daughter Sierra; his parents, Janet and Allan Sr., his sister, Linda (Steve) and his brother Lyall (Leanne); his mother-in-law Olga Legiehn, brother-in-law Gerald; and his treasured nieces and nephews Jennifer, James, Pierce, Brianna, Rachael, Arizona, Lauren, Owen and Olivia, and friends.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manitoba Underdogs Rescue Inc., 23-845 Dakota Street – Suite #382, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2M 5M3

I had the privilege of working with Allan for several years. What I’ll remember most are our relaxed conversations about our families and kids. He spoke with such warmth and care, and those chats always made the day feel a little lighter. He was a genuinely kind and thoughtful colleague, and I’ll miss those talks. - Posted by: Neeraj (Co-worker) on: Apr 27, 2026
