CASIMIR JOSEPH KULESZA

April 24, 1955 - April 28, 2026

With sadness we announce the passing of Cas, a resilient man through many struggles. He lived his life with a hearty humour and passion for both music and art. Cas was born in Calgary, Alberta to Sophie and Walter, and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he lived most of his years.

He is survived by two children, Jonathan and Richard, and one grandchild, William.

Special thanks to doctors and staff at the Grace Hospital. A funeral service will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. on Thursday, May 14, 2026 with condolences at 10:00 a.m. and mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cas’ memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I am sad beyond words at the passing of my friend, Casimir, or Cas, as many called him. He had numerous struggles, his health among them, throughout his life. But he was always resolute in his will to carry on, despite the many hurdles he had to deal with, and done with a level of determination that was unmatched by anyone I've ever known. He had a profound level of decency, trustworthiness and honesty that's rare to find these days. I was grateful to get the chance to visit him a couple of times at the hospital before he left us for a better place. Cas, I'll miss our chats about music, sports, current events and life in general. I'll also be grateful for all the excellent car advice you gave me, a subject in which I consider you to be a true genius. Most of all, I'll miss you and I'll be eternally grateful for your friendship. Farewell, my friend. Requiescat in pace. - Posted by: Raymond Iftody (Friend) on: May 06, 2026

  • Fond memories of our get togethers for dinner and evenings and with your cousin Cathy. Greg would love to see you. - Posted by: Rose Marie (Friend) on: May 02, 2026

  • I knew Cas for over 50 years. His struggles in life were heartbreaking, but he always had a certain optimism about life. I think that optimism came from his love for music and drawing. I remember how he championed Ringo Starr as the best Beatle and the excitement he had when he showed me his drawings. God bless you Cas. I know you are in a better place, on your way to rest with God. Rest in comfort, Rick Loftson - Posted by: Rick Loftson (Friend) on: May 02, 2026
