Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) JAMES WILSON
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Bill Wilson at St Boniface Hospital on May 2, 2026 after a brief illness. He was 71 years of age.
Bill lived all his life in Winnipeg. He grew up on McLeod Ave in East Kildonan, attending McLeod School, John Henderson, River East and Red River Community College. His work life included many years as an MTS long distance operator and later in an administrative capacity at U of M. He also enjoyed volunteering as a civilian office worker with the Winnipeg Police Service.
Bill never let a mobility issue he had since birth slow him down. He travelled widely, including Jamaica, England, Ireland, a trip across the Atlantic on the QE2, and throughout the Canada and the US.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Margaret Wilson and many beloved aunts and uncles. He is survived by his sister Ruth Hawke and brother-in-law Ernie; nieces, Cathie (Chicago), Kim and Robbie ( Brookfield Wi) and their wonderful families.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Bethania Personal Care Home. Bill thoroughly enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of the care he received during his time there.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations could be made to Bethania Care home or the charity of your choice.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
