DOMINIQUE NATHALIE VERONIQUE DENBY

(PANNIER)

June 21, 1965 – May 17, 2026

Dominique passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of May 17, 2026, with her husband Marvin by her side.

She was predeceased by her mother, Marie-Térèse da Rocha Barbosa; and her brother, Christophe Pannier. She leaves behind her father, Samuel Pannier; her aunt, Catherine Deprès; her brother, Cédric Soriville; and her special niece, Laure Brost (Sébastian Hideux and Isaac Hideux-Brost), as well as Marvin’s parents and siblings.

Dominique was born in Carvin, France, on June 21, 1965. In 1987, she came to Canada for an opportunity to work as a nanny in Winnipeg for a few months. She quickly grew to love Canada - and especially Marvin. They were married in 1990 and built a beautiful life together, filled with family, friends, and animals.

Dominique had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. Over the years, she fostered many and cared for several of her own. Pinot and Paris will miss her terribly.

She loved spending her summers at the lake. As long as her dogs were with her, she felt safe and was happy to stay through the week while Marvin returned to work. Dominique also cherished time with friends, good food, good wine, and plenty of laughter. She would never say no to Champagne or to “sheeze.” Those were the moments she loved most.

Dominique and Marvin would like to sincerely thank Jill Flett, her palliative nurse from Southern Health, for her care, kindness, and check-ins, as well as CancerCare Manitoba for their support during this very difficult time.

As Dominique wished, there will be no funeral, and her ashes will be handled privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or to an animal shelter of your choice.
