Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (MARVIN) SVEINN OLSON
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the accidental passing of Marvin on May 29, 2026, at age 51.
Marvin is survived by his mother Gerri, his children Cameron (Shailynn), Brandon, Shelby (Gowan), Tyler, their mother Lezley and his precious grandchildren Clara, Anthony, Klarissa, Kylie, Gage, Garrett and baby due in July.
Also to mourn his passing are his grandmother Emily, sisters Lynne (Joey), Tammy, Tiffany (Corey), nieces Jessica (Quinn), Sarah and nephews Dylan (Morgan), Nolan, Ashton (Alyssa), Mason, Conley, along with great-niece Laila and great-nephews Rhett and Coleson. Marv had a large circle of extended family and friends. His fur babies Blue and Nora will miss his cuddles.
He was predeceased by his father Robert, his grandparents Sveinn, Halli, Kristine, Auntie Joyce and Uncles Thor and Raymond and close friend Craig.
Marvin attended both Riverton and Arborg schools and graduated high school in 1993. He enjoyed playing and watching hockey and attending any of his children’s events over the years, but more importantly was the time Marv spent with his family and grandchildren. He will be affectionately remembered as “Funny Silly Afi”.
Marvin worked various jobs before his almost 20 year career as a corrections officer at Stony Mountain Penitentiary. He always had time for a beer and a chat with friends and will be missed dearly. The family wishes his honorary pallbearers to be his classmates of ‘93.
Marvin wished for a private family service and to be buried alongside his father in Geysir.
The family wishes to thank the First Responders, RCMP and the community support we received during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Marvin’s memory can be made to the Geysir Cemetery Box 796 Arborg, MB R0C 0A0, or a charity of your choice.
