Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT EARL WINOGRAD
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on June 6, 1950, Bob spent most of his life in Richmond, British Columbia, where he was partners in a manufacturer’s agency, formed lifelong friendships, and raised a family of whom he was immensely proud.
Bob was a gifted natural athlete. Hockey was his passion, and his talent earned him All-American honours at Colorado College, where he starred in the NCAA hockey league. He was subsequently drafted into both the NHL and WHA and played multiple seasons in the WHA. Whether on the ice, the golf course, or trying any sport, Bob seemed to possess a rare ability to excel with ease.
While his athletic accomplishments were impressive, they were far surpassed by his devotion to family. Nothing brought Bob greater joy than his children and grandchildren. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. He was a loyal friend, a devoted father and grandfather, and someone whose love for family was evident in all that he did.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his children, Benjamin (Lindsay), Matthew (Bianca), and Jaclyn (Fraser); his grandchildren, Ira, Levi, Avery, Zoe, and June; and his siblings, Margaret (Paul), Chuck (Libby), and Eric (Francie). He was predeceased by his parents, Grace and Neville Winograd.
Bob will be remembered for his loyalty, competitive spirit, athletic gifts, and unwavering pride in his family. His presence, encouragement, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A service will be held at Schara Tzedeck Cemetery on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a celebration of Bob's life at Richmond Country Club at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Lung Society in Bob's memory.
