WILLIAM CLARE LAWSON

(BILL)

Bill Lawson passed away peacefully, with family by his side in Brandon, Manitoba, on June 15, 2026, at the age of 87.

Bill was born on August 15, 1938, in Brandon, Manitoba to Cecil and Mary Lawson. He grew up in Brandon and at the age of 20, he met the love of his life; Donna Leeson. Together Bill and Donna shared over 60 years of marriage, raised their family, and created a lifetime of memories.

Bill was known for his strong work ethic. He spent most of his career in business ventures and sales. Bill earned the respect of those he worked with through his honesty, reliability, and dedication. Bill believed in working hard, providing for his family, and helping others whenever he could.

Over the years, Bill and Donna made their homes throughout Manitoba in Russell, Brandon, Winnipeg, Clear Lake, and eventually Alexander to be closer to family.

Bill loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping with family and friends. He was well known for his sense of humor and generosity. Bill’s quick wit and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife Donna, and will be lovingly remembered by daughter Laurie (Jeff) Owens, and son Jeff Lawson; grandchildren Kristy (Tom) Hare, Billy (Erin) Martens, Darren (Meghan) DeKezel, and Bryson (Kerstin) Owens; four special great-granddaughters Shirley, Florence, Lawson and Maisy; sister Gail (Steve) Skibo and their family.

Rest in peace Gramps. Your love, laughter, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who loved you.

Bill’s family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. C. Minders, Brandon Regional Health Centre staff of 300, Brandon Regional Health Centre palliative care staff, and staff of the Souris Health Centre for the compassionate care of Bill during his final days.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Donations in memory of Bill can be made to Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 150 McTavish Ave East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3 or online at www.brhcfoundation.ca.
