I found it interesting that Laura's obit appeared on the same page as the one for Sid Green. Mr. Green represented Laura at an Unfair Labour charge filed against her employer for wrongful dismissal . . . Mr. Green won the case, the employer fined and Laura reinstated in her job. Ms Duncan was a skilled, talented wardrobe artist working closely with performing artists. it was my privilege to work with her for a number of years at the then Manitoba Theatre Centre. My condolences to her mother Irene, her son Scott and family. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Charles E. Porter (Friend) on: Jun 22, 2026

We were high school pals Laura and I. I had a huge crush on Laura but I always knew she was out of my league. She was a gorgeous hippie girl and I was a bit of a nerd. But somehow I got Laura to be my date for the Windsor Park Collegiate graduation. Dinner at the Dakota, dance cruse on the River Rouge. First ever legal drinking grad and we were all a bit outta control. But not too much. It was a great night with a great gal. I will never forget you Laura. ❤️ - Posted by: Paul Downie (Old high school friend) on: Jun 21, 2026

So sorry to hear. I remember the many stories shared by her colleagues in IATSE. Especially by her biggest fan, C.E.P. She came up for the golf tournament and we all enjoyed seeing her again… - Posted by: Barny Haines (Friend) on: Jun 20, 2026

I was also at the Manitoba Theatre Centre as the stage prop co-ordinator when Laura worked there. She was the only female on the IATSE crew and always had the crock pot on backstage feeding hungry crew guys as she tended to keeping actors costumes in perfect order. Such fond memories. Those were the days. RIP dear Laura. ~ Cheryl - Posted by: Cheryl Griffin Corso (Work mate) on: Jun 20, 2026

We pass to Irene our deepest sympathy. Knowing that the Duncan family are led by you, the patriarch has always ensured that the family remained strong through your losses. May God provide Laura with the much earned rest and peace that she so richly deserves.
