She was devoted to her cherished husband, the late Robert Joseph Brooker. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family and unwavering commitment to one another.
Vicky was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend adored by all. At the age of 88, she leaves behind a legacy of grace - a life defined by love, kindness, empathy, courage, strength and endless devotion to her family.
Vicky is survived by her children, Tammy (Curtis) Popel, Michael (Kimberly) Brooker and Kathleen Brooker (Paul Young); her grandchildren, Christopher Popel (Tory Mogg), Daniel Popel, James Young and Victoria Young; and her great-grandchildren, Brooks and Lettie Popel.
Born in Amherstburg, Ontario, Vicky was the daughter of the late Frances and Joseph Hocevar. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Dorothy Horrobin of Windsor, Ontario. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph (Joe) Hocevar, in 2021.

Vicky was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have met. She was a caring teacher and an amazing cooperating teacher. She shared her passion for teaching, her teaching materials and her wisdom generously with me. I think of her frequently as I write on the board using the tips she taught me to write in a straight line. My sincerest condolences to you all. - Posted by: Nadine Langelaar (friend) on: Jun 27, 2026

I wish every kid had a Mrs. Brooker. Second grade at Voyageur School was a dream come true because I knew my teacher loved me as much as I loved her. Mrs. Brooker has had a lasting impact on my life, and I am forever grateful. - Posted by: Lisa Janke (Student) on: Jun 27, 2026
