Helen entered eternal rest on June 26, 2026. Born in Kenton, Glengarry County, Ontario on September 8, 1940, to Isabelle and John Donald MacLean, she endured years of chronic pain and succumbed to cancer at the Saint Boniface General Hospital.
On June 22, 1963, Helen married the love of her life, John 'Jack' Colin Peter Blair. Together they shared 63 years of marriage filled with family, postings, travel and countless memories. They shared two sons, Colin (Maureen) and Stephen (Sherrie); fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her brother Donald (Marilyn) and brother-in-law Bertrand, and is survived by her sisters, Christine, Betty (Larry), Hughena (Bernard), and brother Jackie (Patricia).
Helen was a devoutly religious woman whose pillars of life were faith and family. She had an indomitable spirit and was fiercely proud of her sons and their families.
Visitation will be held on July 14, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on July 15, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Saint John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church. The family wishes to express our deep gratitude to the Intensive Care Medicine Surgery staff for their compassionate and dedicated care of Helen.
Helen will truly be missed. With her pain now in the past, she has found peace and will go with God and reunite with predeceased family and friends.
