Donald Graham Nathaniel Wuerch passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026 at the age of 91.
He leaves behind daughter Cindy Wuerch (Clark Kenyon), son Dan Wuerch (Kathleen Bursee, deceased), granddaughter Ellee Wuerch, sister Raeleen Vassart (Jim), sister-in-law Joyce Hupka, nieces, Janet, Jennifer and nephews, Darren, Trent and Trevor. Don was predeceased by his wife Madeline, parents, Daniel and Lillian, and brother Gerald.
Don was born January 21, 1935 in Winnipeg and grew up on a farm near Starbuck, Manitoba. After he married Madeline in 1959, he operated it until 1988. Along with farming, Don also worked as a correctional officer at Headingley Jail for over 30 years. Don held a variety of jobs, including pipeline and construction worker, custom combiner, school bus driver, and sugar beet plant operator while farming. Don also worked until the age of 85 at Adesa Car Auction. Don was a hard worker and dedicated family man. He enjoyed watching Bomber games, curling, country music and checking on the crops. He loved farming and he said he felt at peace when he was on the land watching his crops grow.
Dad, you can now plant new seeds with Mom.
Through us, Papa Don would like to thank the Simkin Centre family for his excellent care, comfort and love in his final years.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 29, 2026 at 2:30 p.m.at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
