DOROTHY KATHERINE JANZEN (FALK)

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Katherine Janzen (Falk) with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the age of 98.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her second husband Alfred (Fred) Janzen, her children, Clifford, Gail, Gregory (Gwen), Carol (Tom), Vincent (Jessica), and Katherine, her grandchildren, Jordan (Peta), Melissa (Zach), David, Evelyn (Brian), Emily, Jacob and Isobel (Ami), great-grandchildren, Bishop, Luke and Elizabeth, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband Peter Falk and nine siblings.

Mom was born in 1928 in Wymark, Saskatchewan, to Mary and Jacob Rempel, one of ten children. Mom spent her youth living with her grandma Katharina and her aunt and uncle Tien and Died. She had many cherished memories from this time.

Mom married our father, Peter Falk, in September 1948. In the ensuing years, they were joined by six children. Mom and Dad lived in many communities, eventually settling and spending their remaining years in Winnipeg. Later in life Mom found companionship with her second husband Fred, whose kindness, devotion and friendship enriched her later years.

Mom was the glue that held the family together.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow at Thomson "In the Park", 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg.

The family thanks the staff of Lindenwood Manor for all the care they gave our mom.
