LUCILLA NARDO (nee DEMARIN) On September 7, 1999, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, it is with sadness to announce the passing of Lucilla Nardo of Turin, Italy. Lucilla is predeceased by her father Antonio DeMarin and survived by her mother, Domenica (Carlos) loving husband Adriano; daughters, Luisa (Benedetto) and Antonella (Mario) and grandchildren, Francesca, Sara and Lorenzo, all of Turin, Italy. Lucilla is also survived by her only brother Bruno (Mary) and nephews and niece, Anthony (Lori), Nadia, Johnny, Richard and Marco of Winnipeg. Lucilla will also be remembered by many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Lucilla was born on October 7, 1941 in Dignano, Italy where she lived until 1958 when she immigrated to Canada. She returned to Italy in 1963 where she married Adriano and raised her family. Lucillas life could never be explained in such a brief format. She is and was a woman with great dignity, grace and honour. A woman whose passion for her own life and love for others transcended through time and distance. She is kin-keeper, wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, of course, she was many things to many people, although, she was an entity that only few people could ever hope to be. Lucilla could make you laugh and laugh, humble you in you faiths existence, philosophize about love, life and death, sympathise, empathise but never criticize and then, charm you with her charisma. She can be a mentor to all and through this, as we try to be a little more like her, her spirit will live on and on. Prayers at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave., Tuesday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m.
