KARL GRADT (SR.) Peacefully on Monday, November 22, 1999 at the Riverview Health Centre, Karl passed away at the age of 73 years. He was predeceased by Christine, his loving wife of 51 years, and his brother Josef. Dad will be dearly missed by his daughter Christel Meermann (Paul) his sons, Mathias (Susan) and Karl (Phyllis). Opa will be lovingly missed by his grandchildren, Kirsten Langhren (Dean), Kevin Meermann (Lisa), Kim Mudry (Byron), Andrew Gradt (Sheryl), Amber Gradt, Judith Zonneveld (Paul), Jennifer Heidman (Rick), Karl Gradt (Carri), and Mark Gradt (Shannan) and his four great-grandchildren, Chase, Riley, Faith and Julia. Karl will also be mourned by his brother Mathias and family; his sister Julia and family, as well as numerous relatives and friends. He will also be missed by his faithful pet "Brandy" who was his constant companion and source of joy. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 26 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, Aubrey Street entrance. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So He put his arms around you, And whispered "Come with me". So when we saw you sleeping, So peacefully free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. The family wishes to thank Dr. J. Johnston and staff, the nurses and volunteers at the Manitoba Cancer Clinic; also the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their kindness, their caring and their support.
