MAHADEO (JOHNNY) SAWH Peacefully, with his family by his side, Mahadeo (Johnny) Sawh, aged 79 years, beloved husband of Doreen, died at his home. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Doreen; ten children, Sureeta (Johnny Chunilall) of New York, Laleenee (Nadir Hussain), Sitara, Leela, Sandra (Mario Medrano), Anna (Mike Martelli), Steve, Sharda Sawh (Robert Simpson), Sean and Michael (Chrissy Witowski) 14 grandchildren, Sharmila (Roopnarine) of New York and Orla Chunilall, Neil Hussain, Sarita and Tavita Sawh, Michael, Mark and Christine Medrano, Andrewanil Martelli, Anjuli, Anita and Andrea Sawh, Damien Simpson, Natasha Sawh; one great-grandchild Sierra of New York; sister-in-law Rosey Manichand of Holland; many cousins, nieces, nephews of Toronto, New York, San Diego and Guyana. He was predeceased by his sisters, Latchmin Sookra, Etwari Malay, Roni Sawh; brothers, Narine, Mangaleen, Moti, Beharry and Ramdhani. Johnny was born in Corriverton, a small town in Guyana where he owned and operated his own business for many years. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1985. Viewing will take place on Friday, December 17 between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service according to Hindu Rites will be held on Saturday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m. also at Cropo Chapel. Interment will follow at Garry Memorial Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, phone 586-8044.
