Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY AGATHA (ABBY) TAYLOR (nee VEITCH) It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend (Abby) on January 15, 2000 at the Boyne Lodge in Carman. Mom was born September 14, 1907 at Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland. When Mom was two years old she immigrated to Canada with her parents and only brother. Mom or Abby, as she was known, called many places home. Moms dad was a station agent for the C.P.R. and as a result they moved around the country. Moms first home in Canada was Emerson, Man. From there the family moved back east to Ontario, Tache and Kaministiquia. Mom was a teenager when her dad accepted a Kemnay, NB station then on to LaSalle and finally Dominion City, it was here in Dominion City that she met and married our dad Louis Morris Taylor who predeceased her on June 7, 1963. Mom lived most of her married life in Winnipeg, moving to Carman in 1983 after a series of strokes reduced her ability to care for herself. Mom was an avid sports fan. As a young girl she played baseball and hockey and loved to curl. Even in her 70s mom would root for her Toronto Maple Leafs and comment on how boring the game was if there were no fights. In her later years mom enjoyed bingo. Mom was also predeceased by her father James G. Veitch in 1951; her mother Ann Jane in 1960 and her brother Phillip in 1960. Mom will be missed by her daughters, Nancy (Stan) Armstrong, Carman, Man. and Anita (Ted) Dey, Surrey, B.C.; by her seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Steven and Stacey Armstrong, Janice Dey, Kim (Lorne) Scott, Darren (Charlene) Dey and Lisa Dey and by eight great-grandchildren. Mom is also survived by one brother-in-law Wally (Feryne) Taylor, Winnipeg and sisters-in-law, Annie Waddell, Dominion City, Lizzie Dawswell, Emerson, Christina and Georgina Taylor, Winnipeg and numerous nieces and nephews. Also mourning her death is her extended family, a family not related through blood but bonded through a love and devotion that they showered on Mom for the past 16 years. It was May 6, 1983 when mom became a resident of the Boyne Lodge in Carman and the care she received there was above and beyond the call of duty. We know you will miss her as will we. Thank you for everything. She loved you all. Cremation has taken place. Burial of the ashes will take place at a future date. Memorial donations may be sent to Boyne Lodge, Box 910, Carman, Man., R0G 0J0. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
