IRENE STEPHANIE ENZINAS (nee UNSOELD) December 10, 1926 - January 4, 2000 Irene passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital. She was born in Kempten, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1952 residing in Toronto for several years before moving to Winnipeg. Irene worked in the accounting departments at Beaver Lumber and B & B Rentals and retired in 1987. Irene enjoyed long walks and took great pleasure in time spent babysitting her neighbours children, whom she watched as they grew to adulthood, married and eventually had children of their own. Irene was very much at a part of these "Mercury Bay" families over the years and she will be especially remembered by them. She was predeceased by her parents, Max and Rosa Antoine Unsoeld and leaves to mourn her sisters, Gertrude Heinze and Elisabeth Hlepfl and four nieces and nephews, all in Germany. Mass of Christian Burial for Irene will be celebrated on Monday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Vital at 1629 Pembina Highway at Manahan with Rev. Dr. Patrick Morand presiding. There will be a viewing prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Assumption Chapel Mausoleum. A luncheon will take place after the entombment at the Reception Centre at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy donations in Irenes memory may be made to the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB, R3T 2G2.
