Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE PHILLIPS After a lengthy illness on March 19, 2000 at his home, with his wife at his bedside, Maurice Phillips passed away at the age of 84 years. Besides his loving wife Myrtle (nee Bednar) of 55 years, he leaves to cherish his memory a daughter Livia (John) Doidge of Brisbane, Australia, son Don (Susan) of Selkirk; four grandchildren, Julia and Jonathon Doidge, Nicholas and Shelly Phillips. He was predeceased by his mother Annie in 1980; his stepfather Paul Domitruk in 1945; brother Tommy in 1962; brothers-in-law, Mike in 1966, John in 1975, Stanley in 1979; sister-in-law Mary in 1999. Also surviving are three brothers, Willie (Sonya) Domitruk, John (Francis) Domitruk, Steve (Jean) Domitruk, sister Florence (Irvine) Christiansen; brother-in-law Frank (Anne) Bednar; sister-in-law Victoria (Nestor) Kowalchuk. Myrtle would like to thank the home care givers, nurses and Dr. Smith and Dr. Azar who made it possible for Maurice to remain at home until his demise. Viewing will be held on Friday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Vita with Rev. Fr. Ihor Royik officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cleft Palate Program Trust Fund, care of Mrs. Shirley Ireland, Administrative Assistant, Childrens Clinic, Childrens Hospital, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg R3A 1S1.
