SUNNY MAE STEENHUIZEN May 29, 1936 - April 12, 2000 Sunny left us peacefully on April 12, 2000 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side. Many people were touched by her caring spirit and the warm smile that was never too far away. Sunny was admired for her strength and quiet grace throughout her illness and her family is especially proud. She loved the gifts of laughter, her plants and flowers, a good book, close friends and any moment spent with her grandchildren. Our thanks to Dr. Harris and Dr. Mulder and the Oncology staff of the Grace General Hospital as well as Dr. Maxwell and the Oncology staff at the Victoria General Hospital. Thank you also to Dr. bAral and the Radiology staff at the Health Sciences Centre and to the nursing staff of 4West at the Grace Hospital, a special thank you. For his care and support throughout the years, the family gratefully thanks Dr. Richard Blouw. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the Manitoba Cancer Society on her behalf. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Crestview United Church, 316 Hamilton Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba.
