ANDREW ROBERT HUGGINS With courage and dignity, Andy Huggins passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marion, in 1984. He leaves his daughter, Norma (Weind), son-in-law Rick and granddaughter Laurel with many special memories. Andy was born in Oak Point, MB, on February 4, 1919. He was a decorated veteran of the Second World War and participated in the D-Day Invasion with the Fort Garry Horse Regiment. After marrying Marion in 1947, he worked for CP Rail and the Department of National Defense as a skilled bench carpenter, retiring in 1983. Andys retirement years were made full with the special bond he created with his granddaughter, Laurel, and she will cherish this throughout her life. Dad was a gentle, loving father and grandfather; a true gentleman. He passed on his love of nature, the outdoors and animals to his family. The grace and dignity that Dad showed in his final months were a true reflection of his personality. He appreciated the care he received from the nurses and aides at HSC 4th, 5th and 6th floors, thanking them for their care. The family wishes to thank the professionals, friends and family who showed Dad kindness during his hospital stay. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Glen Krentz officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish to do so may make a contribution in Andys memory to the Kidney Foundation, or a charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
