FLORE GREGOIRE (nee St-Vincent) It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of their mother on Wednesday, May 10, 2000. Peacefully, Flore Gregoire passed away at the age of 83 years at the Foyer Valade. Flore was born in St. Joseph, Manitoba on July 20, 1916. She spent the happiest days of her life with her family on the farm in St. Jean-Baptiste; a place she always referred to as her "chez nous". Her children were her greatest love. The family remembers the holiday suppers at their home with a house full of relatives, dancing, drinking cherry wine and playing cards till the wee hours of the morning. Flore also played a good game of baseball. At family gatherings, the ballgame would start when "Ma Tante Flore" would arrive. She loved to travel - Mexico, Halifax, Montreal, Alberta and California. Later on in her life, Flore devoted much of her time to helping the sick and elderly. She will be joining her predeceased son, TiClaude (1953) and granddaughter Michelle (1973), as well as her brothers: Paul, Joseph and Arthur (in infancy) and her sister Simonne. Left to cherish her memory are her seven sons and one daughter and their families: Aurele (Irene) from Edmonton, Alberta, Donat (Alice) from Winchester, California, Paul (Sharon) from Winnipeg, David (Juliette) from Winnipeg, Renald (Lucie) from Claremont, California, Gisele (Louis) Gregoire-Rustenburg from Sunnyvale, California, Claude (Yvonne) from Edmonton, Richard (Joanne) from Winnipeg; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Also mourning her will be a brother, Camille (Margaret) St. Vincent from Winnipeg, sister-in-law Cecile St. Vincent from Ste. Anne, Manitoba. The family would like to thank the staff at Foyer Valade. Our mother enjoyed her last "chez nous" and you made her stay a pleasant and comfortable one. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16 at the St. Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church with Father Raymond Bremaud presiding. Interment of cremated remains will follow at the Parish Cemetery. Donations may be made in Flores memory to Foyer Valade, 450 River Rd., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2M 5M4.
