Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA SANEK "POOGIE" (nee BELEY) Peacefully on June 16, 2000, Lena Sanek passed away at Park Manor Personal Care Home with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Joe on December 16, 1978; parents Steve and Nettie Beley, her two brothers Billy and Harry Beley; sister Mary McCullough. Left to mourn are her children Ronnie (Bill), Brian (Elaine), Stevie, Kim (Darrel) grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Annie Kwasney, Jenny Grechen, Marion Smerchanski; sister-in-law Addie Bailey and several nieces and nephews. Lena was born in Teulon June 6, 1924. She loved playing hockey and baseball. After residing in Teulon for eighteen years, Mom came to Winnipeg, where she worked at Paulin Chambers, Winnipeg Cold Storage and Aberdeen Cafe where she met her husband Joe. Lena was blessed with many life-long friends and relatives who showered her with love and support. She was a very compassionate and loving mother. We will miss her always and may she rest in peace. At Lenas request, cremation has taken place. There will be a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Pastor Shirley Riley officiating. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Park Manor Personal Care Home for their compassion and caring for Mom.
