VERNE E. PROCTOR September 18, 1921 - June 29, 2000 Verne passed away after a ten year battle with cancer, in the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital. Verne was predeceased by his wife Cecile of 49 years of marriage; his parents, Dorothy and Albert; brothers, Deane, Raymond and sister Margaret. He leaves to mourn his sister-in-law and special friend Olive; daughter Verna (Marshall) Blais and son Terry (Jennifer) grandchildren, Rolande (Jamie) and Marshall Blais, Derrick, Carly and Scott Proctor; sister Alberta; brothers, Bud (Lilly) and John, along with his many friends. Dad loved to bowl, golf, hunt and fish. He was a real outdoorsman and loved to tinker around the cottage. In his earlier years, he was active in the community club and the Union for Molsons Breweries until his retirement. At Vernes request, cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 3 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness given to Verne. Dont walk ahead of me, I may not follow.
