VICTORY DORCAS FELTHAM With deepest sadness we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother after a year long struggle with leukemia, on Saturday, August 12, 2000 surrounded by her family at the Grace General Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, George; daughter Tracy (Chris) son Trevor (Allison) and her four precious grandchildren, Alex, Mitchell, Veronica and Robyn. She was predeceased by her parents, Ken and Margaret Dent and her brothers, Jimmy and Rodney. Victory was born in New Liskeard, Ont. on October 28, 1941. After graduating from high school in North Bay, she attended Ottawa Teachers College and became a special education teacher. She was an avid curler and went on to compete in the Newfoundland and Ontario provincial finals. After retiring from teaching, she took up a position as social centre manager at C.F.B. North Bay and subsequently manager of 402 SQN Reserve Officers Mess at C.F.B. Winnipeg. Victory had a natural talent for anything artistic and ultimately she was able to start her own small family business, "Just for You Creations". This business became a success because of Victorys devotion to painting, sewing and woodworking. Her many beautiful works can be found in homes throughout Canada. There will be a celebration of Victorys life on Thursday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with Rev. Fred Lynch presiding. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at GD6 and the "chemo" room at Health Sciences Centre as well as the palliative care ward at Grace General Hospital. A special thank you to her cousin Margaret Kirkham for her devotion to Victory and her family over the past year. Flowers are gratefully declined. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Victorys memory to GD6 Ward, Health Sciences Centre, 820 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man., R3A 1R9. Victory had many wonderful friends and they were so important to her. She would like you to take a friend for lunch and tell them how special they are to you.
