Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATILDA (TILLIE) TAYLOR August 7, 1906 - August 15, 2000 Tillie passed away peacefully at age 94 years on August 15, 2000, after a brief hospital stay. She will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Bud Kelley and his wife, Lorraine and family; niece Joan Thomson and her husband, Roy and family of Calgary; niece Doreen Kelley and family of Portland, Oregon; Marion Greasley and her husband, Gervin and family; and special friends, Doreen and Gerald Wallace, Lori Wallace and Ed Boldt, and Kildonan United Church, Unit 4. Tillie was married to her beloved husband Bud (Sidney) in 1934, and was predeceased by him in 1957. She was also predeceased by brothers, George and Collie (Colin Angus) and sister Mollie (Mary Flora) Kelley. Tillie was born in Crookston, ON, but grew up on Clifton Street in Winnipeg. While living in the west end, she worked at the Bay and attended Chalmers United Church. She and Bud moved to West Kildonan in the late 1930s and became active in Kildonan United Church. In 1956, Tillie and Bud moved to Victoria in the hopes of improving Buds health. Unfortunately, this move was not successful, and Tillie moved back to Winnipeg immediately after Buds death. She worked at Misericordia Hospital from 1958 until her retirement in 1971. She lived in West Kildonan for over 30 years, and moved to Middlechurch Home in 1996. Auntie Tillie was known for her wit, wonderful sense of humour, and generous humanity. She was a tiny person in physical stature, but a giant in character and wisdom. She was a gift to her family and friends, and we will miss her dearly. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, August 22 at 11:30 a.m. in Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Ave., with Rev. Tony Maunder presiding. A private family interment will take place later that day at St. James. Anglican Cemetery. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue 949-4872
